1pt double win Romain De Senam, Un Temps Pour Tout @6/1

I’ve already talked up the chances of Romain De Senam in the 12:40 – I fancy him to handle the soft ground and build on the promise of his impressive British hurdle debut – so he’s takes the first slot in Saturday’s double.

At the weights it’s hard to oppose French Champion Hurdle winner Un Temps Pour Tout, who receives weight from all but Nigel Twiston-Davies’s Blacklion, for the 13:15 Novices’ Chase and is the undoubted class horse.

His poor Cheltenham record and lack of a run are concerns, though the deteriorating ground is a big plus and he’ll be hard to beat if anywhere near his best.

With his big French success, connections would have kept him over hurdles had they not seen him as a chaser of promise and David Pipe has even suggested he could turn into a Gold Cup horse. He completes the double.
