Chacun Pour Soi is a very short price on his seasonal reappearance and now, if ever, is a good time to take him on. His one big career performance came on decent spring ground at the arse end of a hard season for his opponents – he was fresh – and Defi Du Seuil made a lot of jumping errors in behind him to finish second. He’s clearly very good but he’s too short at 2/5 and I’m a huge fan of A PLUS TARD who trades 9/1 second favourite. A Plus Tard is a very classy horse who stays this trip easily and should have loads of improvement in him as he’s only turning six next week. His big negative is he may not quite have enough speed for a Grade 1 two-mile chase, and he can be a little slow over his fences, but I can’t see him failing to make the first three in this. You’re getting a very nice price to throw a dart at the favourite.
