5f Markel Insurance Molecomb Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (2yo)
Picking holes in the favourite Liberty Beach’s impressive form is not easy. She looks a big unit of a horse and probably just has a physical edge over less developed two-year-olds, but her 6/4 price alone is easy to take on in a 5f sprint. The one I’m siding with is Joseph O’Brien’s ALLIGATOR ALLEY at 16/1, who steps up in grade after winning at the third time of asking last time out when dropped to 5f. He’s by the speedy Kingman and boasts a pedigree as good as anything in the race, so being so unexposed he looks potentially overpriced.
