A winner of the Devon National over 3m 6f on heavy ground, Christmas In April will definitely stay this marathon trip. His prominent front-running style and solid jumping could suit him well over the Railway Fences here and having been raised just 1lb for a good comeback run behind a promising type in Hold That Thaught could have put him in great shape for this.
Christmas In April is well proven in testing conditions, but I think the better ground will still suit him having won well over good ground at the end of last season in a 3m 2f handicap and Colin Tizzards horses are in great form.
At 7/1, Christmas In April looks a nice bet in a wide-open renewal.
