2m4½f (New) Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase (Registered As The Liberthine Mares’ Chase) (Grade 2) (Class 1)
Elimay has been smashed in to 8/11 for the inaugural running of the Mares Chase and she looks a formidable force with her second to Ryanair Chase winner Allaho a strong piece of form from earlier in the season.
But COLREEVY has looked a revelation over fences and is unbeaten in three starts including a victory against the boys. On her last start she absolutely hosed-up by 12 lengths to beat the Kim Muir winner Mount Ida so Colreevy’s form also looks pretty good.
This upwardly-mobile chaser for Willie Mullins could show more improvement on this faster going having beaten the likes of Abacadabras and Beacon Edge in a Grade 1 Punchestown Champion Bumper on yielding.
She also trounced Black Tears by five lengths when giving her 10lbs in a Mares Flat Race on yielding in 2018.
Colreevy has also run well at the Festival in the Mares Novices hurdle last year. Colreevy is a better chance than 9/2 and is a gutsy mare that will put it up to Elimay and the rest.
1pt win Colreevy @9/2, 16:15 Cheltenham, Friday
