The Hobbs yard is in flying form, in stark contrast to last season, when a bug in the yard plagued them all year. There’s more than a good chance that was to blame for 2017 Triumph Hurdle winner DEFI DU SEUIL‘s difficult season, and real reason to believe he’ll bounce back to form considering what his stablemates are doing on the track.
He was so good in the 16/17 season that two blowouts in 17/18 were too bad to be true, and a return to anywhere near his peak form would make a mockery of his 9/2 quote for this Arkle Trial.
He wasn’t the best jumper as a hurdler and that is a concern now over fences, but this is a very talented horse who simply has a huge amount of class and speed.
