This is a pretty tight looking Group 3 sprint, Lazuli appears to be a worthy favourite, but he isn’t the most straightforward and has to concede 3lbs to all of his rivals.
Slight preference is for GARRUS who has some pattern-company form in the book including two places in a Group 2 at the Curragh and the Group 3 Coral Charge at Sandown in 2019. He remains lightly-raced for a five-year-old having had 2020 off, but has looked bang in-form this season winning a 5f conditions race on the all-weather to start the season.
Garrus was just mowed down by Came From The Dark on his latest start in a handicap, but he gets a 4lbs swing in-the-weights with that rival, will be suited by the faster conditions and can take a step forward in this company.
