1pt win Graffiti Master @9/2, 15:45 Newmarket, Saturday

The Breeders’ Cup is clearly taking centre stage this Saturday and John Gosden has an opportunity to make history with Enable later in the day.

But closer to home, we like a three-year-old of his that’s running in the Price Bailey Ben Marshall Listed Stakes at Newmarket. GRAFFITI MASTER may have been awkward to train having only been seen once this season and that was a decent performance on this track back in May as well. He was beaten by the likes of Old Persian and Key Victory, who have progressed into useful horses this season.

Graffiti Master’s most eye-catching piece of form in his short career was his four length third to St. Leger winner Kew Gardens with Derby second Dee Ex Bee half-a-length ahead of our selection, who showed plenty of ability before getting slightly outstayed on his final juvenile start.

The drop down to a mile on softer ground from 1m 2f could be spot on for this son of Dubawi who has every chance of running well on this going with his pedigree.

The slight concern is the break, but his trainer knows how to get on ready for a race and that has arguably been factored in to the price.

His major rivals are all pretty exposed with the likes of the in-form Muntadab set to run well again. Mitchum Swagger has shaped well without seeing out his races of late and Robin Of Navan – who will likely make the running – could be dangerous now dropped in class as well.

But the preference is with the unexposed Gosden colt, who is the relative outsider of this trappy six-runner affair.
