7f Saint Clair Oak Tree Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (3yo+)
This has to be a betting race as I can’t have One Master drawn one on what may be very fast ground over a turning seven furlongs that will undoubtedly produce hard luck stories. She’s a very short price and is readily taken on for all she is the best horse in the race. It’s more tricky from here but the one I like is INVITATIONAL at 18/1 and drawn perfectly in stall three. Wide draws are very tough to overcome so it does narrow the field slightly and I fancy her to make all and keep herself out of trouble. She is only rated 98 so is going to have to find significant improvement but she has collateral form with good horses like Space Blues – a winner earlier in the week – and is unexposed on fast ground, which her pedigree says might suit her. I could make a case for several others like old favourite Under The Stars and the unexposed Valeria Messalina, but one bet is plenty enough over what is a treacherous course and distance for punters.
