3m Dave Dawes Silver Cup Handicap Chase (Listed Race) (Class 1)
The Silver Cup Handicap looks wide open at Ascot on Saturday judging by the market and currently Yaltari is heading the market for Venetia Williams. He races off a nice mark and will love the ground. But he has a lot to prove in this company and will need to go well on his seasonal reapperance.
Mister Malarky is a decent stayer and should be suited by this stiff test. The slight concern might be the ground with him and even though he is 6lbs bettter off for a 5l defeat to KILDISART, I fancy Ben Pauling’s runner to step up on a decent opening reappearance behind Lostintranslation at Carlisle.
Kildisart carried top-weight at Aintree last April when looking a strong stayer for the step up and win beyond 2m 4f (to 3m 1f) on his first attempt. He remains unexposed as a stayer and looks likely to handle this heavy going by the way he performed to win a Graduation Chase over this course on soft ground this time last season
