Drawn well in stall three and match fit after two easy wins in France this spring, LASSAUT looks the bet in the French Guineas in a bid to give his sire, former world champion Almanzor, a first Classic with his first crop of three-year-olds. Lassaut looks the business as he travels and quickens and looks well suited to the French style of racing. Almanzor himself has made an excellent start to his stud career and his trainer, Jean-Claude Rouget – twice a winner of this race in the last five years – trains both. Of the rest The Acropolis looks most interesting at bigger odds but he was inconsistent last year and Aidan O’Brien seems short in this division this year.
