1Pt Win Off Limits @15/2, Fillies Stakes Group 3, Gowran Park 14:55

Jack Naylor has been contesting the toughest fillies races this season, and has an opportunity to get off the mark for the first time as a three-year-old dropping back in trip. Jessica Harrington’s filly never got on terms in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks last time, and her best run of the season was a second to Covert Love at the Curragh in the Irish Oaks when she was strongly fancied. She has the measure of the majority of this field on recent outings and is a worthy favourite, however she hasn’t shown the form of her two-year-old campaign and at close to even money having had a busy season she could be susceptible to an improver.

Off Limits has five career starts to her name and has been successful twice. Her latest a Listed contest at Killarney in July where she dispatched of Military Angel and Easter (by 3.75l) going away from them in the closing stages. That was over 8f and the step up to 10f should definitely suit with her sire Mastercraftsman having decent stats for middle distance runners including The Grey Gatsby. She improved with good ground underfoot and if she can carry on that progress here she may be strong enough to challenge the more experienced fillies; Jack Naylor only had Easter 3.5l behind last time out so on a strict line through the form they may be closer matched than the relative prices suggest. We like an improving filly and David Wachman is normally a decent hand with bringing on horses – Off Limits has been quietly brought along over her three-year-old campaign and today connections are hoping she can take her chance at pattern level.
