A tricky race but PORTICELLO should be favourite based on the form of his narrow second to leading British juvenile Knight’s Salute last time out, when an untidy jump at the last cost him the race. He rallied and stayed on to recover second from a decent sort and I think that run sets the bar here -the winner of this always come from either the Doncaster or Cheltenham trials. Soft ground should be no issue as he has winning form over Magistrato in similar conditions in France, and he will stay the trip well.
