Godolphin’s Promising Run (5/1) lived up to her name with a very game performance when breaking her maiden last time out at Newmarket. With the same seven furlongs and similar good to soft ground, she looks a good bet to continue her progression today.
Doubly Motivated (9/2) fits a similar profile having cruised home by eight lengths in her own maiden and has no concerns over today’s ground – which is drying, by the way.
I can’t split the two so I’m backing both. The favourite, Hawksmoor, might want the ground to go the other direction so I’m happy to take her on in the sunshine. A dud run at Newmarket over today’s trip also looks questionable and she’s yet to beat a horse I rate highly.
Great Page is a sound horse but looks fairly exposed now along with the rest of these, and the two selections stand out as those most likely to improve past the lot of them.
