1pt win Quel Destin @11/2, 12:40 Cheltenham, Saturday

Right then. The jumps are very much back as Cheltenham hosts its three-day November meeting – the biggest this side of Christmas. The hot and dry summer and lack of rain this autumn means ground conditions are unseasonably fast, with Cheltenham officially riding the slow side of good this weekend.

I think that’ll suit Paul Nicholls’s French import QUEL DESTIN who has looked good in two starts for his new yard. Nicholls was gutted he was beaten first time out but he won easily next time out and arrives at Cheltenham race fit and in form.

The yard clearly rate the horse so 11/2 looks worth a punt given I’m not sure how the favourite can be the right price at odds-on. Also bought from France, his sire has never had a good horse and he looks over-bet on his first start in Britain.
