1m5f Irish Stallion Farms EBF Yeats Stakes (Listed Race)
We are going to take a chance on SIR LUCAN leaving behind some reasonable form over a 1m and 1m2f with the step up to 1m 5f in the Yeats Stakes at Navan.
Sir Lucan put in some decent performances as a two-year-old including a staying on fourth behind Derby hopeful High Definition over 1m at the Curragh.
He is the second string for the Ballydoyle team here with Wordsworth (16-1 for the Derby) looking like a decent prospect as well, but a very short price and is behind Sir Lucan in terms of RPRs posted by some way.
It looks way too soon to write off the chances of Sir Lucan, a full brother to Sir Dragonet, who has shaped as if he holds a lot of stamina and although he ran flat in his seasonal opener in the Derby Classic Trial, he may just have needed the run and this contest could suit him much more in what looks to be a three-horse race with Party House the other main danger.
