6f Sky Bet Lowther Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) (Class 1) (2yo)
Another good looking betting heat because Sacred heads the market at 2/1 and has to prove she stays 6f on what might be soft ground. We haven’t had soft ground much this season so the form book is of questionable value should York get plenty of rain overnight, which looks likely. The one I’m on is Richard Fahey’s UMM KULTHUM who is getting well backed as I write. His trainer has an excellent record at his local track and his horse was ever so impressive on debut, coming from way back to win after missing the kick. It wasn’t the deepest race but the 4th and 5th have won and come 2nd next time out so there’s some substance. Soft ground won’t be a problem on pedigree and the market vibes are clearly positive too, so she’s worth siding with at 9/1.
