1pt win We Have A Dream @7/1, 15:05 Cheltenham, Saturday

Last year’s novice hurdlers have been very disappointing so far this season so Summerville Boy isn’t the most imposing favourite for the Grade 2 International Hurdle – he might want softer ground than this and his jumping is rubbish too.

The New One has won this three times so must be respected despite appearing to have lost his form since a big run in this last season; he is passed despite a tempting price.

I like WE HAVE A DREAM for Nicky Henderson, who also runs Brain Power.

While Brain Power is weighted to hack up on the best of his hurdles form, he has never run well at idiosyncratic Cheltenham, while We Have A Dream missed last year’s Festival and has never run at the track

He’s been disappointing in two runs this season and looks to be struggling as a four-year-old in open company, but immediately after winning a Grade 1 at Aintree last season Henderson mentioned him as a possible Champion Hurdle horse.

That’s high praise and this drop in trip would likely suit if he were to be a Champion Hurdle type – he certainly possesses a good turn of foot to benefit if there were to be a soft pace in this.

I can’t really work out where the pace will come from in this race, so that scenario could play out and he looks overpriced at 7/1.

There’s rain forecast but he’ll go on any ground – a sign of a good horse – so there’s nothing to fear on that front either.

As he’s been a bit tame this season, it feels like boom or bust so an each-way stake isn’t that wise.
