Early season novice chases are often full of value, with race fitness and sharpness so often the excuse for beaten favourites.
The 14:00 at Exeter has a short-priced favourite, Fletchers Flyer, making his chase debut and seasonal reappearance on heavy ground.
The same can be said of the second favourite, Onenightinvienna, so they’ve got to be taken on.
One chance jumps out at a generous price: Rolling Maul. Pulled up on seasonal debut, he should be sharper for the run and has useful form on deep ground.
A 137 rated hurdler, he has something to find with most of these on ratings but has a good chance in these conditions if taking well to fences.
