Sandown hosts flat racing today with three Group races on the card, before switching back to the jumps tomorrow for the British season finale.
I had my eye on Knight To Behold upsetting Crystal Ocean in the 2.25, but seemingly everyone has as he’s halved in price and no longer represents a value bet at 6/1.
TECHNICIAN looks worth a bet in the following race, a 10f Group Three Classic trial, as he’s had a run this season and looks to stay further than this, so it’ll be pace that beats him.
I’m not really sure who the pace angle is in the race besides Mark Johnston’s Persian Moon, who has stamina to prove, and it’s the favourite Bangkok who looks the obvious class angle, having seemingly progressed well from his 2yo campaign and thrived for a step up in trip.
At 5x the price I’m happy to take him on with Technician at 5/1, with the classy Oisin Murphy on board.

Next up is a cracking race where recent winner Sharjah Bridge steps up to Group class for the first time.
He looks good and the yard is in form, but this is a higher class of race and his price suggests he’s certain to be good enough.
He can be taken on with Sir Michael Stoute’s REGAL REALITY, who has a good record fresh and has been very lightly raced for a 4yo.
He’s bred to stay a bit further and is already a Group Three winner, so the combination of unexposed potential, form in the book and a nice price of 8/1 makes him the value bet.
