Sandown Saturday tips: Hardkore (11/2), Shirrocos Dream (9/2), Nube Negra (11/4), Samarrive (8/1)

2m  (1m7f216y) Andy Stewart – Sandown Park’s Great Friend “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race)  (Class 3)(4yo+)

The market says Might I will win, and Nicky Henderson’s hurdles debutant Constitution Hill is being supported too, but the best form in the race might well belong to HARDKORE who beat the well fancied Good Risk At All on debut. Good Risk At All got closest of all to Supreme favourite Jonbon at Newbury, again being well supported, and it looks like decent form. He has to carry a penalty, which might explain the bigger price, but he looks too big.

1pt win Hardkore @11/2, 12:05 Sandown, Saturday

2m4f  (2m3f173y) Racing Is Everyone’s Sport Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Challenger Mares’ Hurdle Series Qualifier) (Class 3) (3yo+ 0-130)

Nicky Henderson thinks Fable is a chaser who needs a trip so this looks tough for the favourite. I like Colin Tizzard’s SHIROCCOS DREAM at 9/2 off a lowly mark of 111. He showed some promise last season when the yard was hopelessly out of form, but won first time out this season and is going the right way.

1pt win Shiroccos Dream @9/2, 12:40 Sandown, Saturday

1m7½f  (1m7f119y) Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race)  (Class 1) (4yo+)

By March last year I was a Chacun Pour Soi subscriber but canceled my membership after his Cheltenham defeat when immediately after the race I thought his bubble was burst. A Punchestown romp followed to further confuse matters and it’s hard to know what to make of him first time out this year. NUBE NEGRA was in front at Cheltenham but miles behind at Punchestown and I’ve no doubt the Cheltenham form should be seen as the truest. He was excellent reappearing in the Shloer Chase and the prevailing good ground gives him a big chance of winning this. I thought 9/4 earlier in the week was fair so by default I have to take the view that 11/4 is too big.

1pt win Nube Negra @11/4, 14:25 Sandown, Saturday

2m  (1m7f216y) Betfair Daily Rewards December Handicap Hurdle (Listed Race) (GBB Race)  (Class 1) (4yo+ 0-150)

A very competitive race where Paul Nicholls’s SAMARRIVE looks too big at 8/1 based on the promise of his hurdles debut at Kempton last season. His bubble was deflated somewhat at Cheltenham but he did travel well and has every right to improve on what’s only his fourth start. A mark of 130 looks workable.

1pt win Samarrive @8/1, 15:35 Sandown, Saturday
