1m Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac – Criterium des Pouliches (Group 1) (2yo Fillies) (Grande Course) (Turf) (2yo)
St Mark’s Basilica filly Diamond Necklace looks like an iffy favourite with only two runs and this being much softer ground than the good-to-yielding she won on last time. I thought she looked more of a good ground type with the way she moved and she can be taken on. The other St Mark’s Basilica runner AYLIN looks the one to be on at 8/1 for the in-form Karl Burke who has had stacks of big race winners lately. Aylin is proven on slow ground and is a proven fighter. She stayed and battled to Doncaster success last time out, and the form of her good-to-firm defeat by Precise was well franked when the winner won a Group One on her next start. She’ll love this ground and run her race.
1pt win Aylin @8/1, 12:40 Longchamp, Sunday
