KOPECK DE MEE has the potential to blow this handicap field apart off a mark of 136. He was all the rage for the Martin Pipe and a huge antepost gamble – connections clearly thought he was a handicap blot. It didn’t work out as his fate was obvious at the first hurdle where he ballooned it, but his French form proves he can jump and race just fine so I’m in a forgiving mood. Willie Mullins banging in four Grade 1 wins on Thursday certainly gives confidence. I’ll back two with an old favourite FAVOUR AND FORTUNE who is only 1lb higher than his Scottish Champion Hurdle success and tries this trip for the first time. I like that angle and he’ll love the good ground. He’s competitively handicapped and was fourth in the old Betfair Hurdle just two starts ago so there’s plenty to suggest this could be his day.
