1m3f Coral Pipped At The Post Winners Handicap (GBBPlus Race) (Class 3) (3yo 0-90)
An interesting three-year-old handicap to finish off day 4 at Goodwood. I’d imagine the ground will be the soft side of good tomorrow so it wont be a huge test, but if you like it quick you will struggle.
WAR HAWK has put up his best performance of his career to date on rain-softened ground at Epsom on his penultimate start. He then ran in what is proving to be an extremely strong race at Newmarket on fast ground over a shorter trip where he never was able to get into it. This race looks much easier and conditions could be right for him to run a huge race and I think he looks overpriced at 14/1.
I’m also going to take a chance that SEA OF KINGS is far better than a mark of 83. This full brother to Arc runner-up Sea Of Class, has shown decent form on all three career starts to date finishing in the places on all of those occasions. Sea Of Kings is owned by Wathan and is bred to be much better than what he has shown to date. He is a big horse and was second to current favourite Munsif on debut when losing by less than two lengths, he gets 4lbs from the favourite now and this son of Sea The Stars may enjoy operating on a softer surface.
