2m1f Racing Post Novice Chase (Grade 1) (4yo+)
Romeo Coolio has looked potentially top class in his two chase starts jumping really well and it would be no surprise to see him take this opposition apart. Those wins have come over 2 and a half miles and although he has proven himself over two miles, that may be his best distance.
JULY FLOWER receives half a stone of weight from the favourite and has looked different gravy over fences on her first two chase starts. She was suited by the drop back in trip to two miles at Cheltenham where she beat a good chaser from Dan Skelton of Be Aware. July Flower was tried over longer trips last year, but actually the drop to this extended 2m 1f distance over a stiff track at Leopardstown should suit. Henry De Bromhead has done very well with his two-mile chasing mares in recent years and she could position herself for a crack at the Arkle with a strong performance so is worth a punt in a race where short-priced favourites have typically faltered in recent years with only one winning favourite in the last six editions.
1pt win July Flower @13/2, 14:20 Leopardstown, Friday
