THISTLE ASK looks the most natural Kempton type in this field as he will go from the front and make this a real test of jumping. He beat Saint Segal last time out – who has gone on to frank the form and get hiked in the handicap – and that’s clearly the best form on offer. You need some class to win a race like this and he’s still running like an unexposed chaser. I don’t think the favourite is a good price at all as he was entirely unfancied last time and has a 6lb hike in ratings to overcome.
