The jolly is Team Decision and he is on a four-timer here having been raised another 6lbs for his latest victory. He hasn’t necessarily looked like he has had bundles in-hand on official ratings, on either of his last two starts, and a wide-draw seals his fate as a horse to take on in this three-year-old contest.
Delph Crescent got the better of AYUTTHAYA to win on a head bop at Hamilton ten days ago and I fancy the latter to turn the form around racing off one pound better terms. Bevereley has typically favoured the enterprisingly ridden horse and this son of Lope De Vega certainly fits that mould.
He was unlucky to not reel in Delph Crescent over his longest trip to date of 1m 1f and the extra furlong looks most definitely to be in reach based on his pedigree and he is an interesting runner for Kevin Ryan.
Ayutthaya’s second start was a gallant second to a pattern-level horse in Elarqam during his two-year-old career where he won at the third time of asking, and he has picked up a respectable two from seven starts to date.
I have really liked his performances in both his starts since being gelded back in the spring finishing a staying-on second in both a race over a mile and a 9f contest and the form has been upheld from both those starts.
Ayutthaya has been raised 9lbs above his previous winning mark off-the-back of those two runs, which may be tough to overcome, but there could still be a lot more improvement from this colt and the 11/2 could be looking quite a nice price come 4pm.
1pt win Ayutthaya @11/2, 15:55 Beverley, Saturday
