There’s so much value in these international Group Ones. Calandagan has excellent form but he’s not had a run since his second in the Champion Stakes whereas the Japanese raiders all come here fit after their season. DANON DECILE, the Japanese Derby winner, looks overpriced on his domestic form which also includes a third in Japan’s biggest race, the Arima Kinen. Make no mistake, the Japanese domestic form now trumps Europe in the context of a quick 12f at Meydan. At 10/1 with stall three he’ll take some beating around this easy 12. I’ll fire two with DUREZZA who dead heated for second with Shin Emperor in the Japan Cup and but is available at several times the price. Drawn well he has an excellent chance of having the run of the race for Japan.
