Globetrotter Rebel’s Romance sets the standard here but his very best form is all on flat tracks. He ran an RPR of 117 in last year’s King George and that sort of level makes him beatable here. Al Riffa likes a bit of cut in the ground but he’s exposed now and struggles with winning. I fancy the four-year-olds can take this and I’m backing GHOSTWRITER, who drops in class having run admirably in Group Ones over 10f and tries 12f for the first time. Simply put, if he stays the trip he has the class to win this and 8/1 feels like value to try. I’m also backing SPACE LEGEND to improve a lot from his first run of the season and general 3yo form. He’s by Sea The Stars so should improve for age and didn’t look at home around the tight bends of Chester with his long stride on debut. At 20/1 he fits the profile of a potential improver.
