7f William Hill Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Remarquee put in some huge performances last season in Group 1 company, but this is her first start of the season and she has to give away 12lbs to GREAT GENERATION who has been getting better and better with each start for Marco Botti.
Great Generation claimed two 6f victories last season but always looked like the step up to 7f would suit her. She finished an unlucky second on her first attempt over this trip and then started out this season by running in the Grp 3 Prix Imprudence behind Romantic Style (French 1000 Guinease favourite), Ramatuelle (2nd in 1000 Guineas) and Tamfana (4th in 1000 Guineas). That race may prove to be exceptional form as the season goes on and Great Generation would not have been suited by the soft ground.
A sharp 7f on better ground should be perfect for our selection and she is fancied to beat the favourite here with plenty of further progress expected from her.
