This isn’t the strongest of renewals so it may be that HAPPYGOLUCKY can step forward to win this having won it in 2021 off a 10lbs higher mark. He’s only had five career starts since then but has shown that he retains plenty of ability on his two comeback runs this season, finishing 5/11 in a decent Grade 3 handicap chase at Cheltenham after a two year break before running a blinder to finish fourth in the Ultima. He has been dropped another 1lb for this and we know he likes good ground and a sharp track.

At the other end of the weights, DOCPICKEDME has been a revelation on his last two starts and may be able to continue his progress here where despite being a nine-year-old he seems to be in the form of his life. He has run two career PBs on his last two starts including a win at Doncaster over three miles against the likes of The Changing Man who he had in behind and ran in the Grade 1 yesterday. Docpickedme needs to defy another 4lbs rise in the weights for his last win and whilst he will need to produce a career best, he could have a nice time out in front with conditions to suit and a 5lb claimer on-board.
