3m William Hill Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Shan Blue is being priced up on some of his old chasing form. He might be well-treated but he has to defy a lengthy layoff.
This can go to an improving seven-year-old stayer and the choice was between Sounds Russian and INTO OVERDRIVE, who have both been on significant upward trajectories. Sounds Russian has some nice form in the bank, but I can’t quite understand why Into Overdrive isn’t favourite for this contest having finished close in behind L’Homme Presse on his last start.
He’s a cracking jumper and has course form here at Wetherby. He was put up 4lbs for his second to L’Homme Presse to a mark of 142, which was fair and still makes his mark looks very workable for this progressive type and he should have decent conditions to work off from bottom-weight.
1pt win Into Overdrive @5/1, 13:35 Wetherby, Monday
