1m (Str) Queen Anne Stakes (Group 1) (Class 1) (4yo+)
What a cracking way to start the meeting with a hugely competitive Group 1. There are many chances from the Locking Stakes competing here and Rosallion might be the pick of that bunch. He needed his comeback run and I firmly expect him to put in an improved showing here having been off the track for a year.
Whilst I fully expect Rosallion to go close here, if he doesn’t turn up or is below par then the race looks wide open. One player that is yet to step-up to this trip and is hugely unexposed is LAKE FOREST who seems to always come home like a train every time he starts over 6f and 7f. He has performed well at Ascot before and looked like he would sharpen up for the run on his first start of the season at Longchamp over 7f behind the classy Topgear.
Lake Forest does need to improve on his previous form to claim this, but he has had only 9 starts and claimed a big success over 7.5 furlongs in Australia at the end of last year so he could be good enough to make his presence felt strongly here at a track that plays to his strengths.
