1m (Rnd) Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (4yo+)
Rogue Millennium goes in search of back-to-back victories in the Duke of Cambridge. She is a solid option here and is normally strong at the finish of her races. However she isn’t always the most reliable of types and her odds of 3/1 probably overestimate her chances here. She is entitled to come on for her reappearance run where she was unlucky in running, but still finished comfortably behind OCEAN JEWEL who looked an improved performer at the Curragh.
Ocean Jewel was unlucky in the Group 1 Matron Stakes last season, but her comeback run suggested she could be a mare that could make it at Group 1 level this season. She hasn’t had any occasions to test herself on quick ground but she looks like a speedy mare and remains largely unexposed over the mile trip. It will be a little difficult to give away 3lbs to the rest of the field, but she has a decent draw in stall seven and if she has progressed from her first run then she could be capable of defying the penalty against was looks like quite a tightly-matched field.
1pt win Ocean Jewel @15/2, 15:45 Royal Ascot, Wednesday
