Great Ambassador and Commanche Falls fought out a great finish in the Stewards’ Cup with the latter getting on top late on back in August. They represent the top two favourites in the market but both have been given terrible draws in stall 1 and 2 based on historical trends.
POPMASTER put in another personal best performance last time out and looks dangerous under a penalty for Hollie Doyle. He’s been drawn nicely in stall 11 and should be suited by this strongly run race.
He’s improved steadily during his three-year-old campaign and has got much better with his racing. The addition of the blinkers first time is interesting and may be a test for next season, although Walker was quoted saying that he felt it would really help him.
Popmaster has the ground in his favour and should be able to go close here off a nice weight of 9st 1lbs.
