1pt win Treasure Trove @11/1, 14:25 Newmarket, Saturday

6f (Row) Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies) (Class 1) (2yo)

There’s no doubt Meditate is the form horse despite defeat in Group One company last time out as she bumped into a potential superstar, pulled well clear of the rest and was previously unbeaten in four starts. 2/1 looks skinny but it’s a very fair price and her proven Group One form makes her a better bet than the half-point bigger Trillium, who should probably be bigger than she is. I can knock the form of Swingalong’s Lowther success enough to not fancy 7/1 quotes, and that ties in with Mawj and Lezoo too. The one that has my attention is the progressive TREASURE TROVE for Paddy Twomey at 11/1. She’s on her 9th start of the season so has bags of experience by now and appears to be thriving on her racing. A few starts ago at York she clocked seriously impressive sectionals when beating Rocket Rodney and appeared to stay the stiff 6f at Curragh well last time out. Whether she can stay the 6f on slightly easier going and upped in class is the key question, but I think she’s shown enough class to be considered a serious contender here.
