0.5pt each-way Wolf Of Windlesham @40/1, 14:30 Cheltenham, Sunday

I can’t resist throwing a few quid at an old favourite WOLF OF WINDLESHAM in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham on Sunday given his huge 40/1 price tag.

He’s not old at all in truth, being a four-year-old – who do admittedly not have a good record in the race – but he’s proven around Cheltenham having won at this meet last season and he’s well-handicapped given he won off his current mark of 137 at Sandown in April.

The soft ground is the major concern but it’s the only one of note, though it was good-to-soft when he won here last season and he’s been declared for this nonetheless.

At such a big price we’re hopeful rather than confident, but it’s worth a go with the realistic expectation that he can be an even better horse this season.
