There’s plenty of rain forecast and the ground is certain to be testing, which makes odds-on favourite Lossiemouth’s task much harder up in trip. She’s so fast it has to be a negative, and her stablemates Ashroe Diamond and Echoes In Rain definitely like better ground too. That leaves the top of market quite vulnerable and gives this race plenty of each-way appeal. Last year’s second Love Envoi is an 8yo now and has shown slightly regressive form since, so despite getting her conditions I don’t want to bank on her placing. Similar comments apply to You Wear It Well whose form has plateaued of late. The one I want to be on is Henry de Bromhead’s LANTRY LADY who benefits from the services of Jack Kennedy. Rachael Blackmore may have unfinished business on stablemate Telmesomethinggirl given they were brought down in this race two seasons ago so I’m not seeing the jockey bookings as a negative. Lantry Lady is out of a half sister to wondermare Annie Power and is 2/2 coming into this race, completely unexposed and very unexperienced. However what she does have in her corner is a strong aptitude for soft ground and a pedigree and way of going that screams potential up in trip. Her very participation here is a clear indication of her talent.
