Connections have raised the possibility of star three-year-old ROARING LION running in the QEII on Champions Day at Ascot, which looks highly likely given he hails from the same yard as Cracksman, the reigning Champion Stakes champ, as it’s unlikely they’ll take each other on.
A Group One win at a mile would enhance his stallion prospects, so, having won three consecutive Group One races over ten furlongs, the incentive for a fourth is perhaps lesser.
Roaring Lion has progressed hugely since his runs at the QEII trip of a mile, and I would expect him to dispose of those at the top of the QEII market fairly easily should he try, so the 8/1 still offered by certain bookmakers is plenty big enough.
