2m4f Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final (Grade 1)

A decent looking fillies Mares Novice hurdle with a few runners coming out of the Cheltenham-equivalent to contest it.

GLOBAL EQUITY is yet to win over hurdles, but she has come close and has some collateral-form that is absolutely rock solid from the Dublin Racing Festival back in early February when she finished second to Coral Cup winner, Heaven Help Us, with back in third, the winner of the Mares Novice Hurdle Tellmesomethingirl.

This form was further franked on day one of the Fairyhouse meeting yesterday with Lady Brefni just going in over three miles at 12/1 in a handicap. Global Equity had previously finished behind the likes of The Bosses Oscar and Flooring Porter in a strong handicap hurdle.

The favourite, Atlantic Fairy has looked a decent sort in her own right, but Global Equity was only one length behind the favourite on her penultimate start when possibly not having the run of the race. We can draw a line through Global Equity’s last run over bottomless ground as there’s every chance a first start on better going for Joseph O’Brien could bring the best out of this mare. She’s not to be missed at 22/1.
