I really fancy the Japanese to play a big hand on World Cup night in Dubai, and having already advised Crocosmia to land the Dubai Turf earlier on the card, I can’t not fancy the chances of MOZU KATCHAN – who narrowly beat her in Group One company in their native Japan last season – to land the Sheema Classic.
She’s 14/1 and thoroughly stays the mile-and-a-half trip, so draw nicely in stall one there aren’t many negatives to put me off at the prices.
Despite placing second in a very good renewal of the Arc, Cloth Of Stars probably wants a bit of cut in the ground and may lack pace on this ground but the other Japanese horse, Rey De Oro the Japanese Derby winner, has a massive chance.
He’s rather short at around 3/1 so I’ll pass in such a competitive race with huge chances such as Poet’s Word for Sir Michael Stoute adding real depth.
