The finale over the National Fences has a number that could go well on their first attempt. Lord Du Mesnil probably wants it much further and could be targeting the April event whilst Hunstman Son would look interesting if the ground hadn’t gone against him.
But the in-form SPRINGTOWN LAKE looks dangerous based on his second to Modus on his seasonal reappearance and comes into this off the same mark in the softer ground which is key to his chances.
The Phillip Hobbs horse looks like he will relish the larger fences and remains lightly-raced as an eight year-old.
