5f Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Flying Five Stakes (Group 1) (3yo+)
The bookies have finally copped-on to just how good Highfield Princess is having let her go off at massive prices throughout this season. This massively progressive mare may be the best sprinter around these days and is tough to oppose, but there is the slight chance that her exertions this season (including three Group 1’s in less than five weks) could start to get the better of her alongside a potential preference for flat, rather than testing tracks to see her in her best light. Combined with odds of barely 7/4 for a Group 1 sprint, she is worth looking elsewhere.
I had been quite excited by the potential of Romantic Proposal this season, but she has had an interrupted campaign and the ground might have gone against her, with significant rain forecast, as she bids to win this race twice on the spin. Ladies Church also looks like another potential improver and can go close here if continuing her progress.
But, conditions may just be spot on for A CASE OF YOU who already has two Group 1’s to his name including one on heavy ground. Of those near the top of the market, he is the one that would be most likely to benefit with significant ease in the ground and he could be primed for a big autumn having had a nice break over the summer.
A Case Of You’s last start saw him finish down-the-field in the Platinum Jubilee at Royal Ascot, but there is every chance he will bounce back to form at a track he likes havining finished second in this race last season. He looks the bet at 9/1.
