That William Buick chooses him over the disappointing Walk Of Stars rules him out too. AIKHAL appears the obvious bet as stepping up in trip seemed to transform his form last time out when easily landing a Group Three at Curragh, and the extra two furlongs here look likely to suit. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt looks unexposed as a stayer and it’s hard to see any of his opposition going on to make a mark in Group One company after this, but Aikhal is well entered up and might have more to give.
