I suppose this revolves around whether you think Ancient Wisdom is a worthy favourite. His Doncaster form could have worked out better but did receive a boost in the French Derby with two of the beaten horses placing. However he has a really pronounced knee action and doesn’t look like he wants summer ground. AL MUSMAK beat him over 7f at Ascot as a 2yo and his form appears rock solid as it ties in with the 2,000 Guineas 2nd and 5th, the Dee Stakes winner Capulet and 2nd favourite here Caviar Heights who he beat easily at Newmarket at the back end of last year. He’s on his first run of the season and is up in trip, but that’s no different to the favourite. For that reason he’s a bet at 8/1 compared to 11/8 about the fav.
