The market here doesn’t make sense to me with ALENQUER so far behind Lord North in the betting. He’s given Lord North a beating already this season – albeit with Lord North clearly needing the run – and his form behind Dubai winner Shahryar is top class international Group One form. The steady pace was not to his liking that day and he only really got going late on, so with a prominent ride here he could be dangerous. He has the scalp of Derby winner Adayar and a second to Mishriff over this trip, and goes into this race with more scope than his market rivals. 4/1 seems a point too big.
