2m (Winter) Ladbrokes Committed To Safer Gambling Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) (3yo+ 0-140)
CAPTAIN MORGS should be favourite for this as he’s got form with Betfair Exchange Hurdle 2-3 Onemorefortheroad and Garry Clermont, and has been consistently running well in handicaps amongst a high standard of British hurdlers including Soaring Glory and Guard Your Dreams. He could definitely still be ahead of his mark and Nicky Henderson’s horses deserve maximum respect at this meeting. I also can’t resist backing STREAM OF STARS for the Twiston-Davies team. He’s a 96 rated flat horse that must have had issues to miss three years of racing before resuming over hurdles, and, now on his fourth start over timber, he seems to be getting the hang of things. But for belting the last three starts ago, he would arrive here on a four timer and I do love an ex flat horse in a 2m hurdle round Kempton. 10/1 underestimates his chance as he is improving with every run and his flat rating suggests the ceiling could be a good bit higher than his 125 hurdles rating. Softer ground is an unknown, however.
