3m1f (3m210y) (Mildmay) William Hill Bowl Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race) (Class 1) (5yo+)

This can go to the novice CORBETTS CROSS, who had an easy race at Cheltenham when strolling home in the National Hunt Chase. Aintree is a galloping track where slick jumping isn’t much of an advantage so it should suit this strong traveler perfectly. He’s got loads of pace and younger legs so I’d fancy him in a sprint with any of these, while there’s now no doubts around his stamina. Gerri Colombe will take all the beating as he too really suits Aintree but his Gold Cup effort is likely to have left some sort of a mark and he will only win through stamina – his jumping is similar to Corbetts Cross and he certainly doesn’t have the same speed. Shishkin has a top chance but I’m siding with the younger legs.
