Vinndication might be favourite for the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Chase at Sandown, Saturday, but I doubt he’s got the best form.
It’s difficult to split Defi Du Seuil and Lostintranslation based on recent Cheltenham form, where DEFI DU SEUIL hit the front at the last but appeared outstayed up the hill.
The duo’s form ties in well with the Grade 1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton over Christmas, which is likely to be way above what the favourite here has achieved, so it’s between those two.
I think Lostintranslation is in the wrong race at the Festival as he’s not had an entry for the three-mile RSA Chase and is instead in the JLT over this trip.
Defi Du Seuil is the fastest horse in this race to my eye and this is a marginally shorter trip – though it’s likely to be slower ground – so I’m not sure Lostintranslation has anything on hand despite his marginally shorter price.
For that reason Defi Du Seuil is the value play.
Mulcahys Hill is certainly one to keep an eye on at a big price after good reports since he’s had a wind operation, but I’m not sure he has the tactical speed to win this.
1pt win Defi Du Seuil @10/3, 14:25 Sandown, Saturday (Unibet)
