We’ve already backed KARGESE antepost here off the strength of her Grade 1 juvenile form behind Majborough and Sir Gino, and the anticipation of Paul Townend riding her. That’s looking spot on right now but I do want two darts in this race and I’m going in again with the progressive MCLAUREY. He is preferred to Valgrand who would want to be winning from the front, and the majority of County Hurdle winners come from off the pace. That’s exactly how McLaurey won at Leopardstown, cruising round the field, hitting the front with a minimum of effort and then not doing a whole lot when he got there. He’s on an upward curve and could be ideally suited to this race.
